Doing the Randuro des Terres Noires means being able to taste all the pleasures of the Terres Noires in a single bite. On the menu: mesclun from the three enduro specials: Les Chasseurs, Les Toboggans and Bois de la Latty.
The Villard des Dourbes and the descent of the Chasseurs
The road is winding, the landscapes sparkling, the sun plays hide and seek with the mountains that surround us. The sound of the water disturbs the apparent calm with, in the distance, sumptuous waterfalls. We gain height and the view becomes clearer. What a panorama of Haute-Provence! We are at Villard des Dourbes.
The descent of the Hunters reaches out to us. The band is small, the atmosphere subdued through the pines and oaks. The turns follow one another as much as the sensations and the relief of the terrain makes our arms vibrate. And boom!!! Emerging from this shadow, a vast desert of black marl. This lunar atmosphere plunges us into a mythical ride. The hairpins, the steps, the cliffside path, the cracking of the earth under our wheels, it’s powerful!!!
The concentration is extreme!
The Dall'Osto and the descent of the slides
A real challenge that lies before us with this imposing climb, it is time to face the Dall'Osto. The challenge is complex, the slippery rocks, the imposing roots and the legs heat up quite quickly. The objective for us is not to set foot on the ground: the climb is demanding! In the passages in the undergrowth, with the smell of fresh moss, shades of green and an orange symphony mix between the swaying of the trees in the wind and the leaves that fly as we pass. It is without a doubt LE place to take photos.
In the heart of Haute Provence, the Terres Noires are a geological marvel with surprising shapes: an arid, almost lunar landscape, a giant playground for many sportsmen...

Natural bike park
Leaving this wood, the lunar atmosphere reappears. From this ridge, we can see the descent of the slides and we immediately understand that it is a pure natural bike park. Certainly clinging to the handlebars and with a touch of adrenaline, we launch ourselves onto this ridge of wet but still gripping black marl. Enduro mountain bike guaranteed!! Be careful of missteps, the path is dizzying. Slides are roller coasters, they shake us in all directions. The stones clatter, the tires skid, the arms and legs are numb from so much effort. What pride, what happiness to be here. we appreciate it so much that we go back to redo the best portions.
The trails… a delight, with their natural bumps and steps. We can take several trajectories depending on our form.

La Bergerie Morel and the descent of the Bois de la Latty
Recovered from our emotions, we leave the Bergerie Morel for the ultimate sensations of this hike. We take advantage of this painting once again. In front of us: the Terres Noires, the Pic de Couard and the Barre des Dourbes in the background. We are in the middle of the pines, we wind between the trees, the turns follow one another. With full confidence, we pick up speed. The stones roll and the tires slip. Wow… a grand finish on the Bois De La Latty!
Stars in our eyes, we complete this sumptuous hike in the Black Lands. Pure mountain biking the way we like it!!! It swarms in the legs at the idea of discovering the other routes.
What is the Black Lands?
Les Terres Noires is a legendary mountain biking spot in the south of France. The steep reliefs of the Dourbes and Cousson bars have hosted the Raid and Enduro des Terres Noires for several years.
