Route details
Description
Depart from Republic Square in Malijai, head towards the school then towards the N85. Cross it and follow it on your right for 250m. Take the path on the left which crosses the old Digne railway line.
After passing along the stadium, then a few olive groves, the route takes a wide track which first runs along the bottom of the ravine then rises on its wooded side to a small flat area.
The PR leaves the track 200m further on and climbs quite steeply in the woods. Arriving at the crest, the view opens up over the entire Durance. After a flat and relaxing passage, you finish with a final climb which takes you to the summit of Pourachère. The return can be made by the same path or by the Escale, from where you will return to Malijai following the unmarked EDF canal (allow 1h45).
