Rando calèche "Art en Montagne" – Journée

Sunday May 12 at 09:00 a.m.
Les Chevaux de Roquépine – Le Villard equestrian farm 04140 Barles
Come and discover part of the mountain art collection of the Gassendi museum in an authentic and original way, at horse pace, in the Bès valley. Art has come to one of the wildest valleys in France!
An unforgettable adventure to experience as a group or family in an 8-seater covered carriage (10 or 12 if children and adults). Lunches are taken in the form of picnic baskets prepared by the guide and eaten on site. The crossing begins with a welcome and presentation of the horses. The circuit allows you to immerse yourself in the mineral universe of the Clue de Barles by touching your hands as you pass one of the Sentinels created by Andy Goldworthy, and look for the beautiful Latin inscriptions in golden writing that the artist Herman de Vries has placed against the cliff, then you can drink from the Fontchaude spring before the carriage break, at the foot of the Clue du Péouré cliff (swimming possible in the Bès during this short break). From there, we will be at the start of the path which leads on foot to the Vieil Esclangon art refuge (1h30 of slow walking uphill revealing an extraordinary panorama in ocher colors of red molasses). On arrival you will find the art refuge incredibly well integrated into the landscape of Vieil Esclangon created by Andy Goldworthy, lunch in the art refuge. A treasure hunt will follow after the messages in Latin left here and there by Herman de Vries at ground level in the stone (always in golden writing). These messages will be translated for you. Then go back down in 1 hour in the carriage which will take you back to Barles while talking to you about history, art and geology.

Meet at 9 a.m. at the northern exit sign from Barles towards Verdaches and Seyne (easy parking on the side of the road)
End of the day in the middle of the afternoon (between 16 p.m. and 17 p.m.). Plan a picnic or reserve a lunch basket with organic and local products directly with the host (number on request). Free tasting of homemade organic pear juice.
