The media library bears the name of Louis Joseph, who was mayor of Château-Arnoux Saint-Auban from 1968 to 1977.
Head of the public reading network of the middle Durance, it opened its doors in the fall of 1986, in the presence of José Escanez, mayor, and Michel Rocard and Michel Pezet. The structure is open all year round, 22:30 p.m. per week. The building is located on the plateau, between Château-Arnoux and Saint-Auban. It is part of the Simone Signoret cultural center which includes the three rooms of the Cinématographe, a cinema inaugurated in 1985, the restaurant Le Stendhal and the Durance theater opened in 2007.
