Description

Itinerary: 310 km - 4700 D+ (climb)

Day 1: Château-Arnoux => Auzet
A first step that will please lovers of climbing. Departure in the Val de Durance towards the Hautes Terres de Provence, a day with superb alpine reliefs, many laces, passage near the lake of Serre-Ponçon nestled in the middle of the mountains and end of stage in the valley of the Blanche to the small rural village of Auzet.

Climb: 2188 m // Descent: 1473 m
(two 3rd category passes and one 2nd category pass)


Day 2: Auzet => Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
This second stage will allow you to warm up with an easy start and then the route only goes up and down by small roads and sumptuous gorges. Cross the Clues de Barles before the finish on Digne-les-Bains to continue the stage until the Lac de Sainte-Croix and its famous Gorges du Verdon.

Day 3: Moustiers-Sainte-Marie => Château-Arnoux
This last easier day offers a typical Provençal experience with the crossing of the plateau of Valensole and the lavender fields, then towards the olive groves of the Val de Durance and the rocks of the Penitents des Mées, possibility to extend the end of the stage by the Challenge de la Montagne de Lure.
