Program
2 days / 1 night camping*** in Digne-les-Bains, breakfast included, valid all year round on the dates of your choice. Come and discover sites and landscapes that trace the history of the Earth. Stay marketed by the tourist office.
Day 1 Program: Welcome from 9 a.m. at the Digne-les-Bains tourist office, then meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Museum parking lot. Walk with a geologist, bring walking shoes to take a path, marked with contemporary works of art, to the exhibition rooms of the Maison des Remparts. The geologist will present the marine biodiversity of yesterday and today and the ammonites and fossils of the Region, this remarkable natural heritage 300 million years old. At 11:30 a.m. guided tour of the ammonite slab, one of the emblematic sites of the UNESCO Geopark of Haute-Provence, a Jurassic seabed which concentrates more than 1500 fossils. 12 p.m. trip to the heights of Digne-les-Bains for the picnic (to be provided) and the geological reading of landscapes, always in the company of the geologist. From 14 p.m. to 18 p.m., free access to the aquatic leisure area of the Haute-Provence Thermal Spa (closed on Tuesdays). At the end of the day, check into a mobile home (sheets and towels included). Dinner on your own, overnight stay.
Day 2 Program: After breakfast on the campsite terrace (included) you will head towards the Bès valley (20 minutes from Digne, direction Barles D900) near Clue du Pérouré for a day of hiking. You will reach the abandoned hamlet of Vieil Esclangon (2h30 – 5km – 350m) at the foot of the Montagne du Blayeul. You will pass by the Refuge d'Art du Veil Esclangon and continue to the Collet viewpoint which offers an exceptional panorama of the velodrome on the right bank of the Bès. The return will take the same route. Picnic break (to be planned) near the Bès footbridge, along the river. Then departure for the Lame de Facibelle hike (4h – 11 km – 550m). You will climb into a beautiful beech forest, to pass at the foot of the spectacular Facibelle blade, a monumental geological curiosity.
End of stay.

Accommodation for 2 days and 1 night in a *** campsite (sheets and towels included) with breakfast included, descriptions of the hikes on the second day. Guided tours by a geologist on day 1, entry to the Digne-les-Bains promenade museum, guided tour of the ammonite slab, reading of landscapes at Andran by a geologist from the UNESCO Geopark. VIP entry to the thermal spa's water park for the afternoon of day 1. Tourist tax.
