Village d'Entrages

Village located 967 meters above sea level, 6 km south-east of Digne les Bains.
A medieval atmosphere emanates from this pretty village, with its stone houses dominated by the castle, its narrow streets and its fountain.

At the end of the village square, nature and hiking trails begin... You will take the famous imperial route, because this is where Napoleon passed when he left his exile on the island of Elba in 1815 to reconquer the power.

From here, you can begin the ascent of the Cousson (1.516 m), at the top of which Gassendi, a famous XNUMXth century astronomer and philosopher from Digne, liked to observe the stars. You can discover the St Michel du Cousson chapel, perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Asse Valley.

Also in the town of Entrages, the hamlet of Chabrières offers climbers a climbing site for all levels.
On the road to Nice, Chabrières is on the route of the Chemins de fer de Provence which connects the Côte d'Azur to Digne les Bains. The station is served by the Train des Pignes every day.
