Village de Prads-Haute-Bléone

Prads-Haute-Bléone is a village located in the mountainous territory of the Dignois country.
To reach this “end of the world”, you have to take a tiny road which runs along the course of the Bléone river, as if lost in its vast pebble bed.
A pretty road bordered by majestic mountain ranges and high cliffs folded by erosion which will delight climbers and geologists, even “aspiring” ones!

This large commune comprising several hamlets or villages, such as Blégiers, Chanolles, Saume Longe, etc., represents the high mountain sector of the Pays Dignois and the UNESCO Geopark of Haute Provence. Prads Haute Bléone culminates at 2690 m at the Tête de l'Estrop. It is also a superb ascent from the refuge of the same name which allows you to benefit from an exceptional panorama.

Geology.

Prads is also a forest and pastoral commune where the geology is exposed without restraint. From the village of Chanolles, a 2 to 3 hour round trip hike on the side of the Cheval Blanc mountain will take you to the skeleton of the Ichthyosaurus de la Mélaie. This one lived at the end of the Lower Cretaceous, it is therefore very different from that of the Robin since around 80 million years separate them. It will also be an opportunity to discover wild and majestic landscapes.

Via ferrata.

From the village, thrill-seekers can tackle a freely accessible Via Ferrata (equipment rental at the Mandala campsite).
