Guard dogs
The herds are guarded by sheepdogs and guard dogs against predators such as the patous. These dogs do not develop any particular aggressiveness towards humans, but as their role is to dissuade any intruder from approaching the herd, they will probably come between the herd and you, barking. It is therefore recommended not to cross a herd but of circumvent it widely.
What behavior to adopt in front of guard dogs?
- do not run ;
- to stop while it identifies you;
- remain calm and passive;
- do not threaten or pet the animal.
