The Belvedere of Saint-Jean n°16 – Easy 4km – 1h30
The St Jean belvedere is an ideal walk to enjoy a beautiful view of the Durance valley.
Departure from the town hall of Château-Arnoux, starting from the Renaissance castle, first cross the old village to the Blachon cemetery.
From there, the circuit takes a forest track in the middle of the pine woods before joining the Jean Baptiste road, built in 1667. A little extra effort takes you to the orientation table which overlooks the building and which offers you a view of the Val de Durance. The return starts from the chapel and takes place through dry copses of oaks and maples. At the bottom of the hill, join the town hall in 500m, by the road of the St Jean reservoirs, then on the left the road of Pierraret and on the right the ascent of the oratory.
