The main interest of the Tigne tour lies in the landscape overlooking the Durance and the old village of Volonne, which you discover on the way up while walking through the medieval streets of the village. Very beautiful panoramas over the Durance valley.
Route details
Description
Departure from the town hall square in Volonne. The route begins by crossing the village of Volonne, towards the Deux Tours which you soon leave on your right. After a fairly steep climb, but offering a beautiful panorama, the path continues across the south-eastern side of Tigne, by forest paths. It then gradually descends towards the lands of the Coques farm. The return is via the old road to Sourribes and Beaudument, on a wide shaded path which overlooks, in places, the deep ravine of La Combe, a wild paradise for wild boars and birds. The last part of the circuit takes the small tarmac road of the ravine of La Grave for 1,5 km. The return is via the old path which linked Volonne to the Château de Beaudument.
