Description
Montclar – Seyne les Alpes stage (14 km – 330m D+ / 470m D-): With the path on the plateau of the Saint Jean pass, we alternate between technical trails, the discovery of the lake of St Léger and the small hamlets of the Seyne region. The most technical part of the route is located around the chapel of La Salette, between the hamlets of Risolet and La Chapelle.
Seyne les Alpes – Verdaches stage (12 km – 310m D+ / 370m D-): This section marks the start of the Blanche valley to head towards Digne les Bains. After a climb on the track to the Col de Charcherie, the route takes a pleasant, fun path that descends to the bottom of the valley and joins the village of Verdaches a few kilometers further on.
Verdaches – La Javie stage (15 km – 430m D+ / 750m D-): By taking the old roads passing through the passes, this section allows you to discover some hamlets that are still inhabited: Boullard, partially restored, and the place called La Bouse, now abandoned. A very beautiful descent awaits you after Boullard and its few Terres Noires.
Stage La Javie – Digne les Bains (22 km – 610m D+ / 820m D-): This is certainly the most technical section of the entire route. After leaving La Javie and discovering the pretty isolated villages of Draix and Archail, you enter the heart of the Terres Noires region. A succession of paths and natural steps that are more or less technical. This descent leads to the Bléone plain.
Digne les Bains – Mallemoisson stage (14 km – 200m D+ / 270m D-): This section alternates between cycle paths as you leave Digne, then paths and trails to the hamlet of Gaubert and the Lavender Golf Course. You will cross the golf course before joining the forest paths of Mallemoisson.
Mallemoisson – Volonne stage (18 km – 400m D+ / 480m D-): During the entire climb on the track, and at the pass, enjoy the views of the Bléone, the Durance and the Pénitents des Mées. After the descent to the Escale, the route takes the Tour du Lac trail. In this protected environment, the trail winds through the reeds where many birds nest.
Volonne – Chapelle Saint Donat stage (16 km – 390m D+ / 370m D-): With a large network of single-track trails, the Val de Durance mountain bike base will first help you discover the Bruyères massif, then an ancient Roman road. After a beautiful descent on the Louvière hill path, the famous St Donat chapel, dating from the 12th century, appears.
Chapelle Saint-Donat – Cruis stage (26 km – 800m D+ / 540m D-): This stage takes you on a virtually uninterrupted 15 km route of single-track trail! A fun, playful and sometimes physical route. The rest of the route joins the charming stone villages of Mallefougasse-Augès and Cruis, located at the foot of the Lure mountain peaking at 1826 m.
