Gypsy jazz and flamenco concert with ANTOINE BOYER & SAMUELITO
"Sonámbulo" concert at the René Char Cultural Center as part of the EJAMSLIVE festival (concert evenings on May 12 and 13).
Description
Antoine Boyer and Samuel Rouesnel called "Samuelito" lived in their childhood the same story of musical adoption through two different cultures, gypsy jazz for Antoine and flamenco for Samuel. Although coming from two different musical universes, Antoine and Samuel are well versed in classical guitar, having both been students of Gérard Abiton at the Paris Conservatory, where they met.
"Somnanbule" as an echo of the small nights accumulated by the two artists over three years of concerts including a tour in Europe and the United States.
The audacity, panache and ambition of the duo manifest themselves in their compositions and in their arrangements and the "rewriting" carried out on the famous Entre dos aguas by Paco de Lucía, Anouman by Django Reinhardt or Who wants to live forever by Queen.
Antoine and Samuel show a rare sensitivity and maturity. Elegance, freedom and power, here are the words posed on these two prodigies of the guitar who seem to be afraid of nothing and swing merrily on their elders with respect and a hair of impertinence.
"The two young and brilliant gypsy jazz guitarists
for one, of flamenco for the other, cross their strings
of steel and nylon with obvious complicity. WE love
a lot" Télérama Exit
