St. Jerome Cathedral
Co-cathedral of Digne les Bains, neo-Gothic style.
Faced with the abandonment of Notre Dame du Bourg cathedral at the time of the Wars of Religion, the bishop decided in 1490 to build a new church between the castle and the bell tower.
St-Jérôme underwent many improvements until its present appearance, in neo-Gothic style, dating from the 1962th century. Enlarged and embellished, it was erected as a co-cathedral in XNUMX and classified as a Historic Monument.

The cathedral reopens on July 1 until September at the usual times.
Treasures of goldsmithery from the Basses-Alpes exhibition at Saint-Jérôme Cathedral in Digne-les-Bains from July 7 to September 30, 2023. Free admission every day from 13:15 p.m. to 18 p.m.
Reliquary hunting and processional crosses, ciboriums and chalices, patenes, monstrances, monstrances, reliquaries… are a source of wonder and supports of veneration. All will be under the spotlight of the new exhibition of the Departmental Archives and the Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
