Old Esclangon
Unique experience than that of Andy Goldsworthy, internationally recognized artist, who imagines a project combining contemporary art and safeguarding rural heritage on the protected territory of the Geopark of Haute-Provence, around Digne les Bains.

“When you go up towards the house, on a winding path, you have the
red color in the look and red color on the feet. We then arrive
in the house and we look at this wall with this red and sinuous line. I
think it will be a great echo to the hike. “

From Digne les Bains
Follow the signs “Musée-Promenade“ (where you can see a set of
works by Andy Goldsworthy including 5 Water Cairns on the Hill
amount to the headquarters of the Geological Reserve) and continue on the D900a in
towards the village of Barles for about 15km. Park in the car park at
left just before the Perué clue (tunnel).
About 30 minutes
Then take the path that climbs in the red clay on the other side of the
road (Vieil Esclangon indication - yellow markings) to the plateau. The refuge is then straight ahead of you.
About 45 minutes
