Provence Alpes Agglomeration manages and makes available to users a network of 9 waste collection centers, 3 of which are open to professionals, as well as a drop-off area for the disposal and recovery of waste. It is in charge of guarding these sites and ensures the transport and emptying of skips.
Waste collection centers aim to enable the population to dispose of certain categories of waste in good conditions for the environment, to avoid the formation of unauthorized dumping, to save raw materials and to promote the recycling and recovery of waste. (green waste, bulky items, cardboard, hazardous, electrical and electronic waste, metals, furniture, etc.).
Distributed throughout the territory, they are equipped with boxes to separate the waste according to its characteristics. These are then transported to appropriate equipment for processing and recycling.
The outlets are mainly located outside the community territory, or even outside the department, which requires optimization of transport. Only waste managed by eco-organizations is not transported by Provence Alpes Agglomeration agents, but handled by eco-organizations (for example: Ecomobilier, Ecosystem, EcoDDS, DASRI, etc.).
It should be noted that asbestos and asbestos-cement waste is strictly prohibited at all waste collection centers in Provence Alpes Agglomeration. This waste must be subject to special treatment by an approved body.
