Hike to the summit of Estrop
From the Lac des Eaux Chaudes car park, embark on a gradual immersion into the wild nature of Haute-Provence. The route begins on the trail leading to the hamlet of La Combe, before climbing through the forest and crossing several avalanche corridors. The ascent of the steep Revaux slope, demanding but spectacular, rewards you with a stunning view of the Piche waterfall and the impressive Estrop glacial cirque, where the refuge appears in the distance.
- 1 Day: climb to the Estrop refuge (approximately 3 hours of walking).
- 2 Day: ascent to the summit (2 m) and return to the parking lot (961 hours in total).

Labeled Long-distance hiking trail in June 2020, the GR69® La Routo® invites you on a unique journey of 540 km, between Camargue, Crau and ItalyThis iconic route follows the ancient paths of the transhumance, revealing the landscapes, traditions and know-how linked to pastoral farming.
En Haute-Provence, La Routo crosses the hilltop village of Saint Jurs, goes down to Digne-les-Bains, then goes back up to the valleys of the Blanche and the Ubaye by Le vernet et Seyne les Alpes. Between exceptional landscapes, human encounters et living heritage, La Routo is much more than a path: it is a cultural and sensitive experience, in time with the step.

For digital, the Departmental Council of Alpes de Haute Provence invites you to discover the most beautiful routes of the Haute Provence destination thanks to an intuitive, dynamic and interactive site dedicated to hiking activities. How to use it ? First choose your activity and your route then view, download and print your hike... quite simply.
The cards
Different hiking maps are available in our Tourist Offices. Updated very regularly and sold between 2 and 3€, these topo maps fit easily into the pocket of your backpack.

Perfectly captioned, they consist of a map on the back allowing you to locate the routes in the territory. On the front, each route is the subject of a summary presentation containing the main characteristics: duration, elevation, difficulty, GPS location, points of interest.

L'Étoile du Berger: a family tradition in the heart of Haute-Provence
Nestled at the foot of the Cheval Blanc massif, the family farm “L'Étoile du Berger” has been perpetuating unique artisanal expertise for three generations.
