Meeting between refuge of art and beauty of nature
An original way to discover the most beautiful works of Andy Goldsworthy in Haute Provence
Description
The mountains around Digne-les-Bains offer us a wide variety of landscapes. This “hybrid” territory between the Alps and Provence was the first to be labeled GEOPARC by UNESCO. The explorer Alexandra David Néel chose to stay here during her retirement because this mountainous and wild territory reminded her of the most isolated regions of Tibet. Andy Goldsworthy decided to create one of his main collections around Digne-les-Bains because the heritage and landscapes inspired him enormously. His work, baptized “Refuge d'Art” can be discovered on several exceptional sites, integrated into chapels, sheepfolds and old dwellings.
